The Road to Los Angeles

The Road to Los Angeles

John Fante

I had loads of jobs in l. a. Harbor simply because our relatives used to be negative and my father was once useless. My first task was once ditchdigging a little while after I graduated from highschool. each evening I couldn’t sleep from the soreness in my again. We have been digging an excavation in an empty lot, there wasn’t any color, the sunlight got here directly from a cloudless sky, and that i used to be down in that gap digging with huskies who dug with a love for it, regularly giggling and telling jokes, guffawing and smoking sour tobacco.
